Twitter bans Trump’s video statement on account of potential violence

In the video, Trump remarked that the election he lost was "stolen" and repeated more false claims about the election

Karachi: Twitter, shortly after the fury took place at the Capitol, restricted President Trump’s video statement over the concerns of an increase in violence. The users of Twitter can not reply, retweet, or like the video.

In response to the violence, that erupted in Washington DC, Trump decided to appeal to the marchers to “go home” and maintain “peace” and shared the video statement on Twitter.

According to the report, public officials asked Twitter to remove “Trump’s platform” as it goes against the rules of Twitter.

In the video, Trump remarked that the election he lost was “stolen” and repeated more false claims about the election.

Twitter, later on, flagged the video message shared by Trump as “disputed claims”.

According to foreign media, a crowd breached the Capitol entrance around 5 pm on Wednesday. The unprecedented scene unfolded which was later controlled by the police.
