COAS Asim Munir Praises Team Spirit at PATS 2025

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir praised the unwavering professionalism, physical endurance, and high morale of the participating teams during the 8th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition 2025. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement on Saturday following the event’s closing ceremony.

The rigorous 60-hour-long military exercise, held from April 14 to April 18 in the semi-mountainous terrain of Punjab, focused on enhancing combat readiness, mental resilience, and tactical acumen through mutual learning and practical challenges.

COAS Highlights Character, Courage, and Competence

While addressing participants at the closing ceremony, General Asim Munir emphasized the importance of unity, learning, and evolving military strategies in modern warfare. He stated, “Pakistan Army upholds rich soldierly attributes of character, courage, and competence, which have been consistently demonstrated by our troops in the fight against terrorism.”

He further added that the PATS competition stands as a unique platform to foster team spirit, professional military excellence, and collaboration among friendly nations’ armed forces.

PATS Gains Global Prominence

This year’s PATS Competition attracted significant international participation. Seven teams represented the Pakistan Army, while one team represented the Pakistan Navy. Additionally, 15 teams from friendly countries—including Bahrain, Belarus, China, Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Morocco, Nepal, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Türkiye, the United States, and Uzbekistan—actively competed in the event.

Military representatives from Bangladesh, Egypt, Germany, Kenya, Myanmar, and Thailand observed the exercise, highlighting its growing importance as a globally recognized military training and cooperation platform.

Focus on Tactical Training and International Cooperation

The exercise aimed to simulate high-pressure operational scenarios, focusing on improving tactical coordination, endurance, and decision-making under stress. Participants shared innovative ideas and operational experiences, promoting collective growth and learning.

General Munir awarded individual and team accolades to outstanding participants, appreciating their performance and dedication. Defence attachés and international observers from participating and observing nations attended the ceremony and commended the Pakistan Army for hosting a highly professional and well-organized event.

A Strategic Milestone in Military Diplomacy

The PATS competition continues to enhance Pakistan’s strategic ties with friendly nations through military-to-military cooperation. By providing a common platform for multinational forces to engage, the exercise fosters mutual trust, interoperability, and collaborative defense strategies.

COAS General Munir also took a group photograph with the teams and officials, marking the successful conclusion of the event. His remarks underscored the Pakistan Army’s commitment to continuous learning, international defense collaboration, and excellence in soldiering.
