Quetta Blast Claims Lives of Four FC Personnel

A devastating Quetta roadside blast has left four Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel martyred and three others injured in the Margate area of the city, police confirmed on Friday. The deadly attack highlights the rising wave of militant violence across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Targeted Attack on Security Team

According to Hanna Urak Station House Officer Naveed Akhtar, militants used an improvised explosive device (IED) to target a bomb disposal squad traveling in a security vehicle. The explosion struck the team as they patrolled the area.

Nationwide Condemnation and Tributes

President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the incident, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives. In an official statement, he paid tribute to the fallen FC personnel and reiterated the nation’s determination to eliminate terrorism. “The entire nation salutes its martyrs and acknowledges their sacrifices,” the President stated.

Rising Terror Threat Across Pakistan

This attack comes amid a surge in militant activity. A recent report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) revealed a disturbing spike in violence. In March alone, Pakistan witnessed 105 militant attacks — the highest since November 2014 — leading to 228 fatalities and 258 injuries. The victims included both civilians and security personnel.
