In a major success against cross-border terrorism, Pakistani security forces foiled a large infiltration attempt, killing 54 militants near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The keyword “Pakistan infiltration thwarted” captures the critical achievement announced by the militaryās media wing, ISPR.
Massive Infiltration Attempt Foiled
According to ISPR, the infiltration bid took place during the nights of April 25 and 26 in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan. A group of terrorists, identified as Khwarij, attempted to sneak into Pakistani territory. Swift and precise action by security forces resulted in the elimination of all 54 militants.
“This marks the highest number of Khwarij killed in a single operation during Pakistanās anti-terrorism campaign,” ISPR stated. Troops also recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the scene.

Intelligence findings suggested that the terrorists acted under the influence of “foreign masters,” aiming to launch major attacks within Pakistan. ISPR indicated that the timing of the infiltration, amid Indiaās rising accusations against Pakistan, reveals the hidden motives behind the operation.
The military condemned such acts as “treason and betrayal” against Pakistan and its people. Officials linked the attempted infiltration to strategic efforts to distract Pakistani forces from their counter-terrorism focus, as highlighted in a recent National Security Committee (NSC) meeting.

The military lauded the exceptional vigilance, preparedness, and professionalism of its troops. “This decisive action prevented a potential catastrophe,” ISPR emphasized. The armed forces reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to securing the nationās frontiers and continuing the fight against terrorism.
“Bold and timely responses like this show that Pakistan is winning the war against terrorism,” the military statement concluded.
Prime Minister Commends Armed Forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their successful operation. In his statement, he highlighted the professionalism and swift action that thwarted the infiltration attempt by the Khwarij group.
He reiterated that the entire nation stands behind its security forces and reaffirmed Pakistanās determination to defend its borders and eradicate terrorism. āThese victories clearly demonstrate Pakistanās strong progress in securing its future,ā the Prime Minister said.
