Karachi: Pakistani skipper Babar Azam beaten Indian cricketer Virat Kohli in a poll ran by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the current ‘Core Drive King’.
He managed to score his 16th Test fifty on Thursday against South Africa.
The competition between the two cricketers was tough but Azam managed to get 46% of the vote while Virat Kohli received 45.9% and stood second.
In the poll, four players were nominated Ken Williamson, Virat Kohli Babar Azam, and Joe Root.
Ken Williamson received 7.1% of the vote whereas Joe Root could only receive 1.1%.

Previously, earlier this month, Kohli had faced defeat once before as Imran Khan won the title of “best captain” in the poll conducted by ICC. Pakistani fans once again celebrating their triumph as netizens applauded Babar Azam for his impressive cover drives.
