KARACHI: The health and education authorities in Pakistan have declined to cancel this year’s board exams as the country faces the third outbreak of the coronavirus.
Last month, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood declared that board exams for grades nine through twelve would be held on time.
The decision has angered students, who believe the government is putting their safety at risk.
Students have repeatedly taken to social media to argue that the government postpones the tests in order to persuade politicians to reverse their decisions.
Students have launched the hashtag #cancelboardexams2021, once again asking the government to postpone the tests.
Many of the tweets featured memes, while others stressed the gravity of the case.
