KARACHI: Coronavirus continues to take its toll in Pakistan as 100 deaths have been recorded in a single day.
In the last 24 hours, 49,059 corona tests were performed across the country, of which 5,139 people were confirmed to have the coronavirus, while the virus caused 100 deaths.
According to the official portal, the rate of positive cases of corona in the country during the last 24 hours was 10.47%.
The number of deaths from Corona in the country has reached 15,329 and the total number of cases has reached 715,996 while the number of active cases is 73078.
In addition, 1772 patients have recovered from Corona across the country in 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 627561.
The total number of corona patients in Sindh has reached 268284 while 4523 people have died so far.
The total number of covid patients in Punjab is 245923 and 6908 people have died due to the virus while the total number of patients in Balochistan is 20178 and the death toll is 213.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the number of Corona patients has been 97318 and 2586 deaths while in Azad Kashmir, 14260 people have been infected with the virus and 395 people have died.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, 5103 and 103 people have died of corona up till now.
The total number of corona patients in the federal capital Islamabad is 64902 and so far 601 patients have died.
