Karachi: Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, has met with the medical team caring for famous veteran comedian and actor Umer Sharif, said Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday.

The ministry stated that Dr Sultan’s talks with the medical team will continue today.

According to Fawad Chaudhry, the main issue for the medical team is determining how to make Sharif’s journey possible given his frail health. Sharif is suffering from a cardiac condition about which nothing is known.

“Umer Sharif is a valuable asset to us. “[The government] would do everything possible to support his treatment,” Chaudhry stated.

The federal government stated Monday that a medical board has been created to oversee Sharif’s treatment.

The board of directors has been entrusted with determining whether or not to send the actor abroad for treatment.

The television celebrity had asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to help him with his treatment.

Waseem Badami, news anchor, appealed through his Instagram handle this Thursday.
