ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s opposition parties have filed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan at the National Assembly Secretariat, said PML-N spokeswoman Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday.

According to reports, 86 legislators from the opposition parties have signed the no-confidence resolution. The NA Secretariat received the no-trust motion and requisition for a session from JUI-Shahida F’s Akhtar Ali, PML-Khawaja N’s Saad Rafique, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique, and PPP’s Naveed Qamar and Shazia Marri.

Furthermore, reports say that the three major Opposition leaders — PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, PML-Shahbaz, N’s and JUI-Maulana F’s Fazlur Rehman — will hold a news conference later today.

The former senior minister of Punjab Aleem Khan has joined Jahangir Khan Tareen’s PTI faction because he has misgivings about the prime minister, but the party has not said who it would support if the no-confidence resolution is presented.
