China’s President Accuses Justin Trudeau

During the G20 Summit, President Xi Jinping accused Canadian prime minister of leaking meeting’s information to the media

Almost all the world leaders attended the G20 summit in Bali, and China’s president and Canadian Prime Minister were also present at the summit.

Few days after the summit, a video circled on the internet showing a firm and yet frank conversation between Chinese president and Canadian prime minister.

It was observed in the video that President Xi Jinping accused Justin Trudeau of leaking meeting’s information that was supposed to be kept behind doors.

Xi said through a translator between them, “everything we discussed has been leaked to the papers and that is not appropriate.”

The Canadian prime minister responded by saying, “in Canada we believe in free and open and frank dialogue and that is what we will continue to have”.

Trudeau further added, “we will continue to look to work constructively together but there will be things we disagree on.”

The short exchange suggests the tensions between Canada and China that has been present since 2018 when Trudeau expressed China’s interference in Canadian elections.
