PM Imran Khan meets PM of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan held a one-on-one meeting with Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa on Tuesday. Both countries, in the meeting, discussed bilateral and regional matters.

Sri Lankan counterpart, in a press conference, spoke to Imran Khan regarding his first trip to the country suggesting it was when “I was beginning my cricket career”.

The Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan and Sri Lanka were faced with problems such as extremism.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has welcomed Sri Lanka to strengthen its economic and regional relations through Pakistan. “Through the CPEC [China–Pakistan Economic Corridor], economic ties can be extended to Central Asia and Sri Lanka,” he stated.

“Pakistan has been the victim of the worst attacks for ten years, losing 70,000 lives” over the last decade,” he said.

PM Imran Khan invited Sri Lanka to promote its economic and regional ties through Pakistan. He said, “through the CPEC [China–Pakistan Economic Corridor], economic ties can be extended to Central Asia and Sri Lanka,”
