International Women’s Day started for the first time as a “Women’s Day” in the United States in 1909. It has flourished and grown into a worldwide phenomenon with a focal point every year, with the theme #ChooseToChallenge in 2021.
In line with this, Google has also launched several Doodles featuring a number of women who have made their mark throughout history in the run-up to this global celebration. The video doodle basically “raises a fist” for all women, past, current, and future. With just 41 seconds to go, this Doodle can’t do justice to the whole past of women, but it’s a pretty strong short clip that highlights her.
