Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif over the shortage of wheat in the province.

The Chief Minister has demanded the federal government to supply 1 million tons of wheat, while in the letter, he has requested an immediate supply of 300,000 metric tons of wheat to Punjab.

On the other hand, former federal minister Moonis Elahi has confirmed that a letter has been written to the federation on the issue of wheat.

Moonis Elahi said that the federal government under the leadership of Shahbaz Sharif is oppressing the people of Punjab, the federal government has refused to give us its share in wheat and is not even allowing us to import wheat.

The former minister said that the wheat crisis is being artificially created in Punjab, and the aim of writing the letter is to bring it into the federation’s knowledge and make it aware of the unfair distribution.

The Punjab government has written the first letter on June 18, the second on September 19 and the third on October 4 to the concerned institutions on the issue of wheat.
