PTI Chairman Imran Khan addressed his Azadi long march participants from Lahore discussing the matter of COAS appointment

In his speech, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf chairman, Imran Khan discussed the appointment of new chief of army staff.

He claimed that PML-N ex-leader Nawaz Sharif wanted to appoint someone as COAS who will listen to him and move forward with his political agenda.

He mentioned, “Nawaz Sharif wants to bring an army chief, who would disqualify me from politics.”

He further added that government is trying to make amendments in the Pakistan Army Act, that would give more power to the prime minister.

After that power, prime minister will be able to retain any candidate of his choice, instead of going through a complicated process.

He proposes that the head of army staff should be elected in the similar manner as of judiciary.
