After dealing with violent protests from Chinese citizens, the Chinese government has decided to ease Covid restrictions

Xi Jinping’s government mentioned that they will maintain the zero Covid policy for China but things changed as citizens protested against Covid restrictions.

During lockdown in Urumqi, a residential building caught fire that killed 10 people. Because of this incident, the protests against the Chinese government intensified.

Thousands of people took to the streets in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Xinjiang to protest against the Covid restrictions and lockdown.

After violent protests that caused clashes between the police and citizens, the Chinese government has decided to relax Covid restrictions and lift lockdown from certain areas.

Xi Jinping’s government lifted the lockdown protocol in districts of Shanghai and Guangzhou.
