The uncut version of the blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt was released in theatres across the United Kingdom on December 2nd 2022 by popular demand. Cineworld, Odeon, Reel Cinemas, and Showcase offered the uncensored version of the film to audiences in their cinemas.

The UK audience previously saw a censored version of the film, whereas, in Pakistan and the rest of the world, the full-length version of The Legend of Maula Jatt was released. For the last week of its exhibition in the UK, however, the distributors and producers released an uncensored full-length version of the film, available in over 76 locations throughout the UK.

Maula Jatt, a Pakistani film directed by Bilal Lashari and produced by Ammara Hikmat, is the highest-grossing film from the subcontinent in the past 4 years. The mega-hit broke records by becoming the highest-grossing Punjabi film of all time worldwide in the fourth week of its release. The film also surpassed the lifetime earnings of all other Punjabi hits including Carry on Jatta 2, Saunkan Saunkne, and Chal Mera Putt 2 as it sits tall with box office earnings of 209 CR+ worldwide collection and still going strong despite numerous releases every week ever since its release.

The film has already broken many records and has received many titles, including “Highest-grossing Pakistani film,” “Second highest-grossing film from the subcontinent in the UK for 2022,” and “most watched South Asian film in Norway.”

TLOMJ was released on October 13, 2022, internationally in 25 different areas, with 500+ screens, making it one of Pakistan’s greatest releases. But due to high demand, the movie keeps grabbing additional screens in both the domestic and international markets. The movie was recently released in France as well, where it was well received.

The Legend of Maula Jatt is Bilal Lashari’s best-ever film in terms of direction. The movie has an impressive ensemble cast that includes Shafqat Cheema, Nayyer Ejaz, Resham, Babar Ali, Raheela Agha, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Ali Azmat, Saima Baloch, and Faris Shafi. The film is a hard reboot of the 1979 cult favourite “Maula Jatt,” and it was produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad J. Khan under the joint venture of Encyclomedia & Lashari Films in association with AAA Motion Pictures of Ali Murtaza. Bilal Lashari wrote the screenplay, and Nasir Adeeb wrote the dialogue.

As its presenting partner, the directors have teamed together with Geo Films, Pakistan’s largest media conglomerate and a major force behind the country’s cinematic renaissance. Nadeem Mandviwalla of Mandviwalla Entertainment, who is widely renowned for his decades-long contributions to the film industry, is distributing the movie locally. MovieGoers Entertainment is in charge of distributing the movie abroad.
