Javed Akhtar to Attend Faiz Festival in Lahore as Head Delegate from India.

The renowned Indian poet and lyricist, Javed Akhtar, is set to attend the Faiz Festival in Lahore as the head delegate from India. The three-day event, scheduled from February 17-19, will feature foreign delegates from the USA, Canada, UK, and India, who will represent their music, art, and literary activities.

Javed Akhtar will participate in the Mushaira, a poetic symposium, and will also launch his new book at the event.

The Alhamra Arts Council in Lahore has been set up for the festival, which comprises over 60 events, including theatre, dance performances, literary speeches, and Qawwali, to name a few. Unlike previous years, all the events will be free of cost.

The surrounding areas of the Arts Council have been prepared especially for the three-day festival.

Local and international artists will perform at the literary festival. The event will feature performances by Qawwals from Sabri Gharana, as well as Rizwan Wali Mohammad, the son of Habib Wali Muhammad.

The Faiz Festival was initiated in 2015 by the Faiz Foundation Trust in collaboration with the Alhamra Arts Council in Lahore.
