Commemorating Author Imtiaz Ali Taj on 53rd Death Anniversary

Lahore: Under the auspices of the Buzm-e-Anjum-e-Romani, a seminar, “Taj Sahib ki Yaad Main”, was held at Alhamra Arts Council. The aim was to celebrate the famous author, researcher, and filmmaker Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj on his 53rd death anniversary.

The seminar was presided over by renowned actor and playwright Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj’s son-in-law Naeem Tahir and famous actor Osman Pirzada. A famous author Asghar Nadeem Syed also graced the event along with former executive director of Alhamra arts council Zulfiqar Zulfi, columnist Mansoor Afaq, and young scholar Dr. Arsalan Rathore expressed their views. Dr. Farzana Riaz carried out the duties of coordination. Poet Farast Bakhtari presented a tribute in verse.

Dr. Saleem Malik Stressed on Increasing Awareness about Notable Individuals

A Famous researcher and scholar Dr. Saleem Malik, has extensively researched the literary life of Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj.  On occasion, he addressed the youth in a video link ceremony. He emphasized educating the younger generation about personalities like Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj.
The speaker emphasized the importance of increasing awareness among young people about notable individuals. By doing so, they can learn about the extraordinary dedication of these figures to promoting art and literature and their considerable contributions in this area.

Imtiaz Taj Was A Great Man – Zulfiqar Zulfi

Zulfiqar Zulfi said, “Whenever one sees Alhamra as an institution, they will remember Imtiaz Taj. He was a great man.”
Mansoor Afaq brought up Imtiaz Taj’s affiliation with the Majlis-e-Taraqqi-e-Adab and his literary accomplishments in a conversation. Specifically, Afaq disclosed that, in his capacity as the chairman of the society, he evaluated the last 20 years and found that a mere 20 books had been published before Taj Sahib’s contributions.
In contrast, Taj had an impressive record of more than 300 publications during his time.

Grandson of Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj

On Imtiaz Ali Taj’s 53rd death anniversary, Faran Tahir, a famous Hollywood actor and the grandson of Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj, spoke via video link about his childhood memories spent under Taj Sahib’s guidance. He also mentioned that any creative talents he possesses today are all because of Taj Sahib’s influence on him.
Asghar Nadeem Syed said, “This is my introduction, I have studied in Anarkali Government College University for 20 years and this is a difficult phase because I believe Anarkali doesn’t allow anyone to touch it.” On the occasion of Imtiaz Taj’s funeral, Intizar Hussain wrote a column expressing how sad Lahore was after Imtiaz Ali Taj’s departure.
Renowned Television Artist Osman Pirzada said, “Today, we are sitting in Alhambra, and this is the result of Taj Sahib’s services. We should follow his mission, and it is good that the family is also following this mission.”
Naeem Tahir, the President of the ceremony, said, “I am grateful to all the participants for remembering Taj Sahib. I wish that such people could be born who could keep the traditions and culture of this region alive.” We launched a movement to perform drama at Government College, and we succeeded. Taj Sahib played a significant role in the drama.
Dr. Abrar, the President of the Roman Society, thanked the guests and participants. Ali Tahir, Syed Shahzad Roshan Gilani, and Quratulain Ali were the central organizers of the anniversary. A large number of literary circles participated in the anniversary.
