Pakistan is set to host its first International Date Festival this October, following the signing of a significant agreement between the UAE Embassy and Zubair Motiwala, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). This landmark event aims to spotlight Pakistan’s date industry and foster stronger economic ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
The agreement was formalized with key participation from UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Alzaabi, and Consul General Bukhait Atiq Al Rumiti. The festival is envisioned as a groundbreaking event that will bring together participants from around the globe to celebrate and promote the diverse varieties of dates produced in Pakistan.
Ambassador Alzaabi expressed enthusiasm about the festival, describing it as a unique opportunity to showcase Pakistani dates on an international stage. “This festival will feature countries from all over the world and is expected to enhance the export of Pakistani dates,” Alzaabi said. He highlighted the potential economic benefits, noting that the festival could lead to increased export opportunities and improved economic conditions for Pakistan.
