The Karachi administration has decided to close all public and private schools in the city tomorrow, Friday, August 30. Amid cyclone warning, commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Naqvi, issued the orders in response to the advisory from the Meteorological Department and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The decision was announced in a notification from the Commissioner’s office. It stated that due to the ongoing heavy monsoon rains and the weather advisory, all schools, both public and private, across Karachi will remain closed on Friday, August 30, 2024. The announcement aims to ensure the safety of students and staff as the city braces for further heavy rainfall.

The closure in Karachi follows a broader pattern across Sindh. The Sindh government has already closed schools and other educational institutions in various districts due to severe weather conditions. In Mirpurkhas, schools will remain closed on August 29 and 30. Similarly, all educational institutions in Jamshoro are closed for three days, from August 29 to 31.

Other districts are also taking similar precautions. The Deputy Commissioner of Sujawal announced the closure of schools on Thursday due to heavy rains. Schools in Sanghar will be closed on August 29 and 30. In Tando Allahyar and Matiari, all public and private educational institutions will remain closed on Thursday, following directives from the respective Deputy Commissioners.
