Israel Closes Border with Jordan

Israel has shut down all crossings with Jordan after an attack at the King Hussein Bridge, also known as the Allenby Bridge, which links the occupied West Bank with Jordan. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement in response to the border attack. He called for national unity and reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to its war goals. Netanyahu emphasized the need to eliminate Hamas, return Israeli hostages, and ensure Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel. His statement follows mass protests in Israel, where an estimated 750,000 Israelis demonstrated, criticizing his government’s handling of the war and failure to negotiate the release of captives.

35 Palestinians Arrested in the West Bank

Over the past 48 hours, Israeli forces have arrested at least 35 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa. A joint statement from the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs confirmed that former prisoners were among those detained. Israeli forces have been conducting extensive raids, detaining individuals and threatening detainees’ families.

These arrests have become more frequent and violent since the war on Gaza began, with reports of home destruction and field interrogations.

Israel’s security cabinet is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. local time (16:00 GMT). This meeting follows the attack on the Jordan border and coincides with the United States working on a new proposal to secure a ceasefire deal in the ongoing conflict.

The violence shows no sign of de-escalation, with both Israel and its adversaries continuing to engage in military operations.
