The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has set the record straight regarding the future of Pakistan’s men’s cricket team captaincy. On Saturday, Naqvi emphasized that the decision on the captaincy will rest with the coaching staff and selectors.
Rumors have been circulating about Babar Azam’s position as Pakistan’s white-ball captain, with reports suggesting that wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is being considered as a strong candidate to replace him. Naqvi stated, “I have left these matters to the coaching staff and selectors. A workshop is scheduled for September 22, where everyone involved will be invited to give their input, and decisions will be made afterward.” He was quoted during an interview with Geo News.
He added, “I know that if there is any mistake, it falls on me. If the team does not perform well, if there is a selection mistake, or if the coach loses, it will all reflect on me.”
