Karachi: In a major operation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprehended a Lahore resident outside the US Consulate in Karachi for attempting to secure a US visa using forged documents associated with a cricket club.

The individual’s identity remains undisclosed, but reports reveal that he was caught while trying to obtain the visa with fraudulent paperwork. Authorities stepped in just in time to prevent the fraudulent visa acquisition.

According to insider sources, the accused had procured the fake documents from an agent named Sajjad, paying a hefty sum of 32,000 UAE dirhams, roughly 450,000 Pakistani rupees.

During the investigation, the suspect failed to provide convincing explanations regarding the authenticity of the documents, leading to his arrest.

The FIA’s decisive action highlights its commitment to tackling visa fraud and safeguarding the integrity of visa procedures. Authorities are now probing deeper into the case, aiming to uncover further details about the agent Sajjad and any larger network involved in the scam.
