Doha: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani visited the National Museum of Qatar. They explored the “Manzar: Art and Architecture of Pakistan from the 1940s to Today” exhibition. The Associated Press of Pakistan reported on their visit. Their visit followed bilateral meetings with officials from both sides.

Historic Art and Cultural Display

The Amir and Prime Minister toured the gallery. The exhibit highlighted Pakistani art and architecture. Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, sister of the Amir and chair of Qatar Museums, personally guided them. She introduced PM Shehbaz to Pakistani artists and event organizers. The gathering created a friendly and engaging atmosphere.

A Proud Moment for Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his pride in Pakistan’s rich artistic legacy showcased at the exhibition. “The holding of this exhibition is a matter of pride for every Pakistani,” he stated, emphasizing the gallery as a symbol of the deep ties between Pakistan and Qatar.

Highlighting the exhibition’s significance, the Prime Minister added that such events not only showcase artistic talent but also strengthen cultural bonds between countries.

Meeting with Renowned Artists

PM Shehbaz took time to connect with Pakistani architects, painters, photographers, and calligraphers. The exhibition featured masterpieces from influential artists, including Shakir Ali, Sadeqain, Gul Ji, Zubaida Agha, Kamil Ali Mumtaz, and Nayyar Ali Dada. Their works spanned across different eras, capturing Pakistan’s diverse cultural and architectural evolution since the 1940s.

Prime Minister’s Warm Acknowledgement

Following the visit, PM Shehbaz expressed his appreciation in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Pakistan greatly values its special bond of friendship with Qatar! In this visit, we are adding momentum to Pak-Qatar ties,” he wrote. The Prime Minister thanked Sheikh Tamim for his hospitality and looked forward to the Amir’s upcoming visit to Pakistan.

This high-profile visit and cultural exchange further strengthen the diplomatic relationship and underscore the mutual respect and interest between Pakistan and Qatar in promoting arts and heritage.
