Nevada: Nevada’s Secretary of State, Francisco Aguilar, has expressed concern over an increasing number of mail-in ballots being rejected due to signature mismatches, particularly in Clark and Washoe counties. According to US media reports, over 11,300 ballots in Clark County and 1,800 in Washoe County are flagged for verification or “curing.”

Signature mismatches require voters to confirm their identities by the November 12 deadline. Aguilar has taken proactive measures, including sending text notifications to voters, urging them to verify their ballots so they can be counted. Reports indicate a trend of mismatches among young voters, whose signatures may not match records due to changes over time.

Maine Schools Targeted in “Swatting” Incidents on Election Day

Maine: As schools across Maine serve as polling stations, police have reported a surge in “swatting” calls—hoax threats aimed at triggering emergency responses. While many schools are on alert, Maine State Police emphasized there is no credible threat to public safety. The FBI has confirmed a wave of non-credible bomb threats in several states, many of which seem to originate from Russian email accounts.

Authorities have not yet linked these incidents directly but are monitoring the situation closely.
