Pakistan is set to establish a network of modern IT parks. These parks aim to provide young professionals with the resources to launch their innovative ideas. The goal is to boost the national economy and support digital growth.
The IT parks will serve as incubators for start-ups and entrepreneurs. They will offer space and infrastructure to help new tech ventures succeed. These parks will also foster innovation in the IT industry.
Economic Impact of IT Parks
The Ministry of Information Technology predicts that IT parks will create jobs and attract foreign investment. Once fully operational, the parks will help boost the IT industry, increase exports, and bring in valuable foreign exchange.
“These parks will drive the IT sector forward,” said an official. “They will help Pakistan tap into the global tech market.”

Tackling Infrastructure Gaps
The Islamabad IT park is part of a broader plan to address infrastructure gaps in the IT sector. The government has allocated Rs 13.72 billion for these projects. The parks will promote technology transfer, improve industry-academia links, and boost research and development.
“These parks will foster innovation and commercialization,” said the official. “They will strengthen ties between universities and industries.”
Growing IT Exports to $25 Billion
Prime Minister Sharif’s vision includes raising IT exports to $25 billion. Various government departments are working together to achieve this goal. The IT parks are a key part of this strategy. They will provide the infrastructure needed to support the tech ecosystem.
These IT parks are expected to drive Pakistan’s digital economy, create jobs, and improve the country’s position in the global IT market.
