Israeli forces have escalated attacks in Gaza, resulting in at least 30 Palestinian deaths, as tanks advanced into the Nuseirat refugee camp. Health officials reported that over 20 people were killed in overnight airstrikes targeting Nuseirat, including a tent encampment. In northern Gaza, the Kamal Adwan Hospital urgently appealed to international organizations for protection following injuries sustained by its staff due to Israeli drone fire.

Increasing Violence and Civilian Impact

Since the onset of Israel’s offensive in October 2023, Gaza’s Health Ministry estimates over 43,000 Palestinian casualties, as bombardments continue in densely populated areas. Al-Awda Hospital in central Gaza confirmed that multiple civilians lost their lives in attacks impacting Gaza City and the northern town of Beit Lahiya.

Calls for International Intervention

Amid worsening conditions, Arab and Muslim leaders convened at a joint summit in Saudi Arabia to condemn what they described as “genocidal” actions in Gaza, urging an end to the violence and the protection of Palestinian civilians. Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman condemned Israel’s actions and called on the international community to prevent further escalation, especially any attacks on Iran.

Diplomatic Impasse and Calls for Sovereignty

Regional leaders, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, highlighted that true security requires Palestinian sovereignty and independence. However, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar dismissed this as “unrealistic,” claiming a Palestinian state would serve as a “Hamas state.”
