Security Measures Amid PTI Protests

The visit coincides with heightened security measures in Islamabad due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) final protest call. Authorities have sealed off the Red Zone, which houses key government buildings and the Diplomatic Enclave.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who received the Belarusian advance delegation, warned against any attempts by protesters to disrupt peace. He stated that anyone trying to enter the federal capital unlawfully would be detained.

Government’s Commitment to Diplomatic Relations

In a press conference, Naqvi emphasized the government’s efforts to ensure a smooth visit for the Belarusian president. “Islamabad stands beautifully decorated to welcome the president of Belarus. This showcases our commitment to fostering strong ties globally,” he said.

Naqvi criticized PTI for causing public inconvenience. “Protesters are attempting to sabotage this significant moment, but such negativity won’t dampen our resolve for progress,” he added in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
