A Hindu extremist leader in India has made a controversial demand, calling for Muslims to be deprived of their right to vote. This marks another disturbing incident of rising Islamophobia in the country.
Kumar Chandrashekhar Nath Swami, a leader of the Hindu extremist group “Vishva Vokaliya Maha Samsthana Math,” delivered these remarks during a protest rally in Bengaluru. The rally was organized by the “Bhartiya Kisan Union,” a farmers’ organization.
During his speech, Swami made a hateful demand to revoke the democratic voting rights of Muslims living in India. He argued that a law should be passed to remove the voting rights of the Muslim population.
Attack on the Waqf Board
In addition to his call to strip Muslims of their voting rights, Swami also demanded the abolition of the Waqf Board. He claimed that efforts should be made to eliminate the Waqf Board entirely. The Waqf Board manages Muslim religious and charitable properties, and its existence has been a point of contention for extremist Hindu leaders.

Growing Islamophobia in India
This is not the first time that extremist Hindu leaders have targeted Muslims with hateful rhetoric. In recent years, such incidents have become more frequent, and the Muslim community in India has faced increasing hostility.
Since the rise of Narendra Modi’s government, Muslims in India have found themselves at the receiving end of harsh policies and rhetoric. The government’s stance on religious minorities has drawn widespread criticism, both within India and internationally.
Continued Impact on Muslim Lives
Muslims in India are facing a growing threat to their rights and freedoms. The rhetoric of hate and discrimination, fueled by extremist Hindu groups, is making daily life more difficult for the Muslim population. The demand to strip Muslims of their voting rights is just one example of how these groups are working to marginalize Muslims in Indian society.
International Silence
Despite the rising attacks on Muslims, the international community has remained largely silent. Human rights organizations and foreign governments have expressed concern over the treatment of Muslims in India, but no significant action has been taken to address the issue. The silence of the international community is allowing these extremist ideologies to continue gaining traction in India.
