Israeli authorities have denied 82 out of 91 attempts made by the United Nations to deliver aid to northern Gaza between early October and November 25. Despite the dire humanitarian situation, Israel impeded nine additional attempts to bring critical supplies into the region. This comes as northern Gaza faces a military siege and relentless bombardment, lasting more than 50 days.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees warned that the conditions for survival were rapidly deteriorating for the estimated 65,000-75,000 people still trapped in northern Gaza. “The conditions for survival are diminishing,” the agency stated in a social media post, highlighting the worsening crisis.

Intensified Bombardment Across Gaza Strip

Since the early hours of the morning, Gaza Strip has witnessed an intense wave of airstrikes. Al Jazeera correspondent Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Deir el-Balah, confirmed that the entire Gaza Strip had been bombed with equal intensity.

“We can clearly hear the sound of fighter jets flying very low across central Gaza,” Mahmoud said. The relentless bombing was reported to have caused extensive damage, especially in the northern parts of Gaza.

Destruction in Northern Gaza

Fighter jets attacked residential areas in Jabalia refugee camp, Jabalia town, and northern Beit Lahiya, reducing the remaining buildings to rubble. These attacks have resulted in further internal displacement and a tragic rise in civilian casualties.

According to Mahmoud, in the Nuseirat refugee camp, particularly near the Netzarim junction, Israeli military forces are conducting a policy to expand the junction. This expansion is accompanied by airstrikes that destroy residential buildings, which the Israeli military claims are used as observation points by Palestinian fighters.

However, witnesses on the ground have reported that these buildings housed numerous civilians, including families, who were trapped by the bombardment.

Humanitarian Crisis Deepens

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has grown increasingly dire as Israel continues its military campaign. The lack of aid, combined with ongoing airstrikes, has left civilians with limited access to basic necessities such as food, water, and medical care.

The UN’s repeated requests for humanitarian assistance have largely been denied, exacerbating the already severe crisis. The 82 requests turned down by Israel represent a failure to address the desperate needs of thousands of displaced individuals in Gaza.

As the situation worsens, the international community is facing growing calls for action. Humanitarian organizations and world leaders have urged Israel to allow aid into the region, warning that the lives of thousands of civilians are at risk without immediate intervention.

Ongoing Civilian Casualties

The continued attacks on residential buildings, refugee camps, and civilian infrastructure have contributed to a mounting death toll. The destruction of homes and public buildings has left many without shelter, and the bombardment has increased the number of casualties.

While the Israeli military maintains that its operations target militant groups, the widespread devastation and civilian deaths suggest that many innocent lives are being lost in the ongoing conflict. The full extent of the damage in northern Gaza is yet to be determined, but it is clear that the humanitarian crisis is rapidly deepening.
