Islamabad: PTI’s Core and Political Committees on Wednesday discussed Bushra Bibi’s role in party decisions. They questioned who defied Imran Khan’s order to stage a sit-in at Sangjani.
They asked who forced the rally to march to D-Chowk and whose actions caused the deaths of party workers.
Party sources said the committees held separate meetings to review the protest rally. Members from both forums debated Bushra Bibi’s involvement.
The committees strongly condemned the alleged killing of PTI workers by the government. They demanded a judicial commission to investigate the deaths.
A source revealed that leaders presented varying casualty figures during the meetings. Most of these figures were unverified.
The committees criticized the government but also called for an internal inquiry. They stressed the need to identify those responsible for ordering the march to D-Chowk.
They questioned why Imran Khan’s instructions for a Sangjani sit-in were ignored. Members asked who gave the order to move the rally to D-Chowk.
They also raised concerns about why Imran Khan’s clear directives were disregarded. Members scrutinized Bushra Bibi’s role, with no one defending her actions.
Several members argued that political decisions should be made by political leaders, not non-political figures.
They said if the sit-in had occurred at Sangjani, workers’ lives could have been saved. It could also have opened formal talks between PTI and the government.
Interestingly, many senior leaders had opposed the November 24 protest date. They later tried to discuss ending the protest with Imran Khan after the Islamabad High Court’s decision. However, authorities denied them access to meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.
