DOHA: Foreign Ministry spokesperson of Qatar, Majed al-Ansari, stated that his country’s role after Bashar al-Assad’s removal will depend on guidance from Syrians.
“Any positive role that Qatar can play, we will delightfully do it,” al-Ansari said. He emphasized Qatar’s commitment to supporting the Syrian people since the start of the revolution.
Commitment to Syrian Aspirations
Al-Ansari reaffirmed Qatar’s support for the Syrian people in their pursuit of their needs and aspirations. “We aim to ensure that Syrians achieve their goals within the framework of international law,” he said.

Qatar has reportedly been in contact with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) over the past 48 hours. Al-Ansari did not elaborate on the nature of these communications but underscored Qatar’s continued engagement in Syria’s evolving situation.

Qatar has consistently supported opposition groups in Syria since the start of the uprising against Assad. This latest statement highlights its willingness to take an active role in shaping Syria’s future while prioritizing the aspirations of its people.
Moreover, Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on Syrian military sites, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). The attacks targeted factories belonging to the Syrian air force and weapons warehouses near Damascus.
