Power Outages Affect Thousands
The wildfires have also caused widespread power outages across Los Angeles. According to PowerOutage.us, approximately 35,000 homes and businesses are without electricity:
- 17,500 customers of Southern California Edison are affected.
- 17,700 customers of the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) remain without power.
- 100 customers of Pasadena Water and Power are also impacted.
In an update, LADWP reported that since the fires started on Tuesday, crews have restored power to more than 350,000 customers. Over 100 repair teams are prioritizing the restoration of downed wires as quickly as possible.
