Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has once again issued a show-cause notice to party leader Sher Afzal Marwat for making statements against party policy. Sources revealed that the notice was issued on Monday, instructing Marwat to respond within seven days. This marks the second time Marwat has faced disciplinary action for alleged violations of party lines.

The notice, signed by PTI Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja, directs Marwat to explain his actions and refrain from representing the party on public media platforms during the response period. Marwat has also been advised not to raise any further issues until the matter is resolved.

Past Controversies and Disciplinary Warnings

This is not the first time Sher Afzal Marwat has been at odds with PTI leadership. In May 2024, the party issued a similar show-cause notice over statements considered irresponsible and damaging to PTI’s reputation. At that time, the notice was issued by Omar Ayub Khan, who was serving as PTI’s secretary-general.

The party had accused Marwat of violating its discipline and disregarding founder Imran Khan’s emphasis on responsible behavior. PTI warned Marwat that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation could result in further disciplinary measures.

Party Leadership’s Stance on Discipline

PTI’s leadership has reiterated the importance of maintaining discipline within the party ranks. Sources confirm that the party remains committed to ensuring that its representatives adhere to clear instructions and guidelines.

The latest notice underscores PTI’s zero-tolerance policy for actions that may harm its public image. Party insiders speculate that continued non-compliance by Marwat could lead to serious consequences, including suspension or expulsion from the party.

PTI leadership has emphasized that all members must align with the party’s principles and avoid creating internal disruptions, especially during critical political periods.
