LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif advised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to prioritize national interest during the ongoing negotiations with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The meeting took place on Sunday at Jati Umra, Lahore, and lasted two hours.

According to the PML-N statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz briefed Nawaz Sharif about the country’s political and economic situation, along with the progress in talks with PTI. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also present at the meeting.

During the discussions, Nawaz emphasized the importance of national unity amid current challenges. “We all have to work together for the country,” he told Shehbaz, urging him to keep Pakistan’s interest above all in negotiations with the opposition.

The leadership expressed satisfaction with the government’s efforts to tackle inflation. The meeting was informed that inflation had significantly decreased, and the country’s economic indicators were moving in a positive direction.

The meeting also reviewed PTI’s demands, which were presented during the third round of negotiations last week. Shehbaz Sharif briefed the PML-N leadership on the status of talks and the government’s approach to addressing these demands.

Nawaz Sharif stressed that all political decisions should align with the broader national interest and contribute to long-term stability. He reiterated the importance of resolving differences through dialogue to ensure progress for the country.

Commitment to Public Welfare

Nawaz Sharif expressed satisfaction with the measures taken by the PML-N-led government to ease inflation and provide relief to the public. “The PML-N government will continue to serve the people,” he said.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to upholding national unity and focusing on economic recovery. Party leaders expressed hope that the ongoing dialogue process would yield positive results, ensuring political stability and progress.
