The Excise Department has launched an operation targeting non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles across Balochistan. The operation, which began on January 21, is being conducted in collaboration with local district administrations, Customs, and Police.

The operation initially focuses on Quetta, Mastung, Sorab, Khuzdar, Kalat, Nushki, Turbat, and Nasirabad. Authorities plan to expand the campaign to other districts in the coming weeks.

Goals of the Operation

The crackdown aims to address growing concerns related to unregistered vehicles and drug trafficking. According to a spokesperson, the month-long operation will seize NCP and suspicious vehicles, handing them over to the Excise Department for further action.

The spokesperson highlighted that strict measures against NCP vehicles and illegal drugs have already begun. The Balochistan government’s directives emphasize public safety and the elimination of illegal activities.

Sindh’s Measures Against Official Vehicle Misuse

Meanwhile, in Sindh, the government has announced measures against the unauthorized use of official vehicles. Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon, during a meeting of the Sindh Cabinet’s austerity subcommittee, decided to register cases against individuals misusing government vehicles.

The committee also recommended auctioning abandoned vehicles to generate revenue for priority projects. Sharjeel Memon emphasized the importance of curbing unnecessary expenses and ensuring transparency in vehicle use and auctions.

Both provincial initiatives reflect a commitment to improving governance, curbing illegal practices, and promoting public safety. These efforts aim to ensure better resource management and stronger law enforcement in the region.
