Attock: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati has been released from Attock Jail after obtaining bail in a case related to a ‘violent’ protest by the party. The Lahore High Court (LHC) approved his post-arrest bail on January 30.

Release Process

The jail administration released Swati after receiving his release order. He was initially arrested in Islamabad during a protest in October last year and later transferred to Attock Jail.

Previous Arrests and Legal Proceedings

Azam Swati was first arrested in October during a demonstration. In November, an Anti-Terrorism and District Court in Islamabad granted him bail in eight different cases. However, soon after his release, he was re-arrested in another case registered at Sangjani police station.
