Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion at Gulfood 2025. The event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from February 17-21, is one of the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibitions. It features over 5,500 exhibitors from 129 countries.
Consul General Hussain Muhammad and Trade & Investment Counselor Ali Zeb Khan also attended the inauguration ceremony.
Strong Pakistani Presence at Gulfood 2025
Under the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), 45 Pakistani companies are showcasing a variety of agro-based products. These include rice, cereals, meat, dairy, spices, cheese, bakery items, salt, herbal products, honey, horticulture, juices, and beverages.
In addition to TDAP-supported exhibitors, over 200 Pakistani companies are privately participating in the event. Their presence highlights Pakistan’s expanding footprint in the global food market.
Ambassador Highlights Export Growth
Ambassador Tirmizi expressed pride in Pakistan’s participation. He noted that the country’s stalls are well-designed and strategically located to attract buyers. “There is significant interest in our products, including basmati rice, spices, pink salt, and cheese,” he said.
He also emphasized the increasing trend in Pakistan’s agro-based exports, particularly in the MENA region. The UAE remains a key trading partner for Pakistan. “Gulfood provides an excellent platform for collaboration and innovation, enabling Pakistani exporters to expand their business through networking and knowledge exchange,” he added.
Pakistan’s Agri-Food Exports on the Rise
Trade & Investment Counselor Ali Zeb Khan highlighted Pakistan’s strong export growth. He stated that the country’s agri-food exports reached $8 billion globally in FY24, marking a 37% increase from the previous year. Key export drivers included rice, maize, sesame, meat, edible fruits, and vegetables.

Shabbir Merchant, President of the Pakistan Business Council Dubai, pledged full support for Pakistani exhibitors. He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to promoting Pakistani products in the UAE and beyond.
Malik Faisal Jehangir, Chairman of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), thanked Ambassador Tirmizi and the Commercial Section at the Pakistan Consulate Dubai. He credited their support for Pakistan’s enhanced participation in global trade events like Gulfood.
