Meta AI is now available in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), bringing advanced AI-powered chat assistance to millions of users. Along with this expansion, Meta has introduced Arabic language support, making interactions more accessible for Arabic-speaking users across the region.
Meta AI Reaches More Markets
Meta AI has been gradually expanding worldwide. In October 2024, the company launched the chatbot in Brazil, the U.K., and other markets, hinting at future rollouts. Now, the AI assistant is officially live in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the UAE, and Yemen.
This expansion strengthens Meta’s presence in the region, allowing more users to access AI-powered assistance on platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger.
How Users Can Access Meta AI
Meta AI functions as a virtual assistant within Meta’s messaging apps. Users can summon the AI by tagging @meta in a chat. The assistant can help with recommendations, information searches, and content suggestions, such as finding travel destinations or creating music playlists.
Meta is also introducing multimodal features in MENA. One key tool is “Imagine Me,” which generates AI-enhanced selfies. Another feature, audio dubbing for Instagram Reels, will allow users to add AI-generated voiceovers to their videos.

Growing Global Reach
With this latest expansion, Meta AI is now available in 42 countries across 13 languages. More than 700 million users have already accessed the AI assistant through Meta’s apps.
However, the available features vary by region. In some European countries, for example, Meta AI is restricted to answering general questions on Ray-Ban Meta AR glasses due to privacy regulations.
Why This Matters
By adding Arabic support, Meta AI is making its technology more inclusive for MENA users. This step aligns with Meta’s broader strategy of integrating AI into everyday digital interactions, enhancing user experiences across its platforms.
As Meta continues to expand and refine its AI capabilities, more users in the Middle East and North Africa can expect new features and improvements tailored to their needs.
