The Sindh government is advancing efforts to bridge the gap between technical education and industry needs through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. A recent meeting in Karachi, chaired by Special Assistants to the Chief Minister Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar and Muhammad Saleem Baloch, focused on launching an agreement with local industries to train skilled workers for the growing job market.

Collaboration Between Government and Industry

The meeting, held at the Investment Department, Government of Sindh, brought together key officials, including Director General of the PPP Unit, Asad Zamin, and representatives from the Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Departments.

Aligning Education With Industry Demands

Officials agreed to identify high-demand sectors in consultation with local industries. Once finalized, an agreement will be implemented to ensure that students receive industry-relevant training, making them job-ready upon graduation.

Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “This agreement will provide skilled workers required by industries while also increasing employment opportunities for the youth.”

A Boost for Employment and Industrial Growth

Both special assistants reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to economic growth and job creation. They highlighted that this partnership would accelerate industrial development by supplying trained professionals tailored to industry requirements.

“This initiative is a step towards a stronger economy, where both students and businesses benefit,” said Muhammad Saleem Baloch.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to fast-track the agreement’s implementation, ensuring that technical education evolves alongside industry advancements.
