Entrepreneur Sara Davies is stepping away from Dragons’ Den to focus on her crafting business, Crafter’s Companion. She announced that she will not be filming for the next series, prioritizing her role as CEO. While she is leaving the show for now, her statement hints at a possible return in the future.
A Successful Journey on Dragons’ Den
Davies joined Dragons’ Den in 2019, becoming the youngest-ever female Dragon at just 35 years old. Since then, she has invested in multiple startups and played a key role in mentoring new entrepreneurs. Her passion for business made her a fan favorite, and she described her time on the show as deeply rewarding.
She will still appear in the second half of the current series, as those episodes have already been filmed. However, she confirmed she will not be part of the next season’s production.

Prioritizing Crafter’s Companion
Davies explained her decision by saying that she has loved every moment on Dragons’ Den but is shifting her focus to her own business. She emphasized that when she commits to a business, she gives it her full dedication, just as she has done in her role as a Dragon.
Founded in 2005, Crafter’s Companion started as a small venture and has now grown into an internationally recognized brand. Davies highlighted that investing in businesses on Dragons’ Den involves much more than appearing on TV. It requires dedication, time, and active involvement in the companies she supports.
She stressed that being a Dragon means more than just making deals on screen. It involves working closely with the businesses, helping them grow, and staying actively engaged in their success. While she remains committed to her investments, her main priority now is leading her own company.
What’s Next for Sara Davies?
Davies is not slowing down despite leaving the show. She is set to host Time Is Money, a new quiz show on ITV, adding another project to her growing television career. In the past, she has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and hosted shows like The Big Idea Works and Ultimate Wedding Planners.
The BBC has not yet announced who will replace her on Dragons’ Den. However, the show’s other current Dragons include Steven Bartlett, Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, and Touker Suleyman. Recent guest Dragons have included Joe Wicks, Emma Grede, and Trinny Woodall.
A Possible Return?
BBC entertainment executive Kalpna Patel-Knight praised Davies for her contributions to the show and left the door open for her return. She described Davies as an exceptional Dragon who has supported many entrepreneurs and expressed hope that she would return in the future.
While Davies is taking a break, she has not ruled out returning to the Den. For now, she remains focused on growing Crafter’s Companion and exploring new opportunities in the business world.
