The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered former Prime Minister Imran Khan to be presented in court via video link today at 2 PM. If the arrangement is not made, authorities must bring him in person by 3 PM. The court has warned of strict action against non-compliance.
Legal Battle Over PTI Leader’s Meeting
Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan earlier summoned Adiala Jail Superintendent to address a complaint by PTI leader Mashal Yousafzai, who was denied access to meet Imran Khan. The court questioned whether Yousafzai was officially representing the PTI founder as his lawyer.
The judge expressed dissatisfaction with a list presented by jail authorities, allegedly from Imran Khan, regarding legal representation. To clarify the matter, the court hinted at questioning Khan directly.

Warnings Against Contempt of Court
Justice Khan noted that jail officials failed to comply with previous court directives, raising concerns about contempt of court. He reminded them that the last hearing had settled the matter, and any further delays would lead to legal consequences.
Hearing Resumes After Break
After an adjournment, the court reconvened at 12 PM. It reaffirmed its order that Imran Khan must be presented through a video link by 2 PM or in person by 3 PM. The Inspector General of Islamabad was tasked with ensuring the necessary arrangements.
During the hearing, Advocate Shoaib Shaheen argued that political leaders had been denied meetings for the past five months. The court sought clarification on why Mashal Yousafzai’s meeting with Imran Khan was delayed.
Jail Authorities Explain Delay
Superintendent Abdul Ghafur Anjum claimed he was out of town, causing the delay. However, the court questioned why the meeting was not arranged earlier, particularly on the previous Friday.
Anjum further stated that Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, informed jail authorities that Mashal Yousafzai was neither their lawyer nor their focal person.
Court’s Final Directive
The IHC has directed jail officials to comply with the order and ensure Imran Khan’s presence in court as instructed. The court emphasized that failure to adhere to its directives will result in legal consequences.
