Karachi: The missing wheel from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Flight 306 has been found at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. Airport staff located the wheel near the remote parking bay, close to the Ispahani Hangar.
Technicians from the airport’s wheel shop found the detached wheel next to the landing gear of a grounded Boeing 777. The discovery came after an urgent inspection of the airport premises.
No Casualties or Property Damage Reported
The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) confirmed that the wheel’s detachment caused no casualties or property damage. Authorities are now investigating how the wheel became separated from the aircraft.

PIA Flight 306 Lands Safely in Lahore
Flight PK 306, traveling from Karachi to Lahore, completed its journey without issue. The flight landed safely in Lahore as per schedule.
The absence of one of the six main landing gear wheels was detected during a routine post-landing inspection. PIA engineers immediately reported the issue, prompting a search at Karachi Airport.
Investigation Underway
Aviation authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident. They are examining maintenance records and inspecting other aircraft to prevent similar occurrences.
Passengers on the flight remained unaware of the missing wheel until after landing. PIA has assured that flight safety was never compromised.
