Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared Pakistan’s willingness to participate in any neutral and transparent investigation into the recent killings in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Speaking to the media, he emphasized the country’s openness to an impartial inquiry.

He also highlighted the critical importance of water to Pakistan’s survival, calling it a national lifeline. “Water is vital for our 240 million people. We will protect it under all circumstances,” he stated firmly.

Indian Forces Demolish Homes in Occupied Kashmir

Amid growing unrest, Indian forces have demolished five more homes in IIOJK. According to Kashmir Media Service, explosives were used in the operation. The houses belonged to Ehsan Ahmed Sheikh, Ahsan Ul Haq, and Haris Ahmad in Pulwama, Zakir Ahmad Ganaie in Kulgam, and Shahid Ahmad Kutay in Shopian.

A day earlier, troops also blew up the ancestral homes of Asif Sheikh and Adil Thoker in the Pulwama and Islamabad districts. These actions have sparked outrage among locals who describe the demolitions as collective punishment. They claim the operations took place without any legal proceedings.

India has defended the demolitions, alleging ties to militancy. However, Pakistan and Kashmiri rights groups have strongly rejected these claims, calling them a cover-up for human rights abuses.

General Munir Reaffirms National Resolve

Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has condemned India’s actions and assured that Pakistan will not back down from its principles. Addressing cadets at the Pakistan Military Academy’s passing-out parade, he reminded the nation of its deep roots and sacrifices.

He stressed that the two-nation theory still forms the backbone of Pakistan’s existence. “Our forefathers made immense sacrifices for a homeland that reflected a distinct Muslim identity,” he said. General Munir also criticized Indian media efforts to distort history and questioned attempts to weaken Pakistan’s ideological foundation.

He reassured the people that the country’s armed forces are alert and capable. “We are united. We will protect every inch of our land,” he vowed, reinforcing Pakistan’s readiness to respond to any threat.

Call for Global Inquiry into Kashmir Killings

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has urged the international community to launch an impartial investigation into the killing of 26 men at a tourist location in Kashmir. In an interview with The New York Times, he expressed Pakistan’s full support for any international probe.

He stated that Pakistan is ready to cooperate with global investigators and has nothing to hide. “The truth must come out,” Asif said, calling on human rights organizations to examine the facts and hold the responsible parties accountable.

India’s Claims Rejected by Pakistan

India has accused Pakistan of being behind the recent attack. Islamabad has strongly denied the allegations. Officials from Pakistan’s Foreign Office called the accusations baseless and a deliberate attempt to distract from India’s own human rights violations in Kashmir.

Both countries claim Kashmir but administer different parts of the region. The territory remains a hotbed of military tension and international concern.

Pakistan Demands Justice and Accountability

Pakistan has appealed to the United Nations and global powers to take immediate notice of India’s aggressive policies in IIOJK. Officials say the use of explosives against civilian homes and ongoing extrajudicial killings are unacceptable and must stop.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace. “But peace can only prevail through justice, dialogue, and accountability,” the official emphasized.
