In a decisive step forward in Pakistan’s ongoing anti-terrorism operation, security forces eliminated six terrorists and injured four others in a late-night intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed the operation took place between April 23 and 24.
Targeted Strike in Bannu
According to the ISPR, the operation followed credible intelligence reports about the presence of militants in the area. Security personnel swiftly launched a coordinated assault on the suspected hideout. A fierce gun battle ensued, during which six terrorists were killed, and four others sustained injuries.
Ongoing Operations in Waziristan
This operation comes on the heels of two similar IBOs earlier in the week in North and South Waziristan. In the Razmak area of North Waziristan, security forces engaged another group of militants, killing five fighters described as “Khawarij” by the ISPR.

Troops launched the assault based on specific intelligence, successfully neutralizing the threat without reported casualties among the soldiers. “Five Khawarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR said in a strongly worded statement.
Nationwide Crackdown on Militancy
The recent operations mark an intensified phase in Pakistan’s broader crackdown on terrorism. Authorities have been actively targeting militant strongholds across the tribal belt and adjoining areas. With back-to-back successful operations, the military aims to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent further violence in the region.
