Fawad Khan’s Abir Gulaal faces an uncertain future in India following the recent Pahalgam attack, escalating tensions between the two neighboring countries.
Cancellation After Pahalgam Attack
Scheduled for a May 9 release, Abir Gulaal was caught in the political crossfire after an attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam left over 24 people dead. India accused Pakistan of supporting “cross-border terrorism,” an allegation Islamabad firmly denied. Following these developments, calls for a boycott of the film grew louder across Indian media and social platforms.
According to reports from The Indian Express, sources within India’s information ministry confirmed that the film’s release has been cancelled. This move highlights how cultural exchanges between the two nations often become casualties of political tensions.
Songs Pulled from Online Platforms
Although teasers like ‘Khudaya Ishq’ and the official trailer remain accessible, the full music videos for ‘Khudaya Ishq’ and ‘Angreji Rangrasiya’ are no longer available online.
