Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for peacefully resolving the canal dispute through the Council of Common Interest (CCI). Speaking at Karachi airport, Shah said no new canal will be built without the mutual consent of all provinces.

Unilateral Decision Reversed

Shah revealed that the IRSA certificate, issued by the caretaker government without Sindh’s approval, has been officially cancelled. He called it a major win for provincial rights and fair water distribution.

He noted that IRSA’s decision bypassed legal procedures, ignoring Sindh’s rightful role in water management.

Federal Support Appreciated

The Chief Minister praised the Prime Minister’s leadership in resolving the issue amicably, ensuring a cooperative and constitutional approach to water-sharing conflicts.

The agreement ensures that no new canal will be constructed without the approval of all provinces involved.
