Pakistan’s military leadership has issued a strong warning against externally-sponsored terrorism. During the 270th Corps Commander Conference in Rawalpindi, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir declared that the armed forces will not let foreign-backed threats disrupt national peace. The pledge comes a day after a deadly school bus bombing in Khuzdar, which killed six, including three students, and injured over 40 others.
Vigilance Against External Threats
The conference, held at the General Headquarters, focused on Pakistan’s internal and external security landscape. Military officials emphasized the conclusion of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and the campaign Marka-i-Haq as major successes. The forum warned that, after its failure in the Pahalgam incident, India had escalated covert attacks through non-state actors to destabilize Pakistan.

Unified Response to Terrorism
The army leadership vowed to dismantle all terror proxies with full force. “We will not allow externally-sponsored agents to disrupt our peace,” stated the ISPR. Intelligence and law enforcement agencies will work closely to identify and neutralize these threats. The military expressed full commitment to protecting national interests.
Support for Kashmir and Martyrs Honored
The forum also discussed the deteriorating situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir, expressing concern over human rights violations. Army leaders reaffirmed support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. They also paid tribute to the martyrs of Marka-i-Haq, recognizing the youth and media for their role during the conflict.
Munir Receives Highest Military Honor
In a separate ceremony, President Asif Ali Zardari formally promoted Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal. This marks only the second time in Pakistan’s history that this ceremonial five-star rank has been awarded. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Munir’s leadership during recent military operations and hailed the outcome as a historic victory.
The government credited Munir with reshaping modern warfare strategy and protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty. His leadership, officials said, brought not only military but also moral and diplomatic triumphs during a critical period.
