Tensions have escalated as US President Donald Trump renews pressure on Iran for unconditional surrender, warning of more consequences if Tehran resists. While Trump claimed Iran was “totally defenceless,” Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed to defy any threats, promising “irreparable damage” if the US intervenes militarily.

Iran Rejects Surrender

Khamenei, in a televised statement, reaffirmed Iran’s refusal to accept pressure. He declared that neither peace nor war could be forced upon the Islamic Republic. His warning followed Trump’s remarks that Iran was in serious trouble and should have negotiated earlier.

Missiles and Evacuations

As both sides exchanged missile strikes, Iran launched two fresh barrages targeting Israel early Wednesday. Explosions were reported over Tel Aviv. Thousands fled major Iranian cities amid Israeli air raids, particularly after warnings to evacuate areas in southwestern Tehran. Israel claimed it struck 20 targets, including missile production sites and military intelligence centers.

Regional Powers Weigh In

Turkish President Erdogan defended Iran’s response as “legal and legitimate,” while Russia’s President Putin offered to mediate. Germany called for immediate negotiations, stressing there’s still time to de-escalate.

Growing US Involvement

Trump, after meeting with his National Security Council, hinted at joining Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Though the US has only provided indirect support so far—like intercepting missiles—additional fighter jets are being deployed to the region.

Cyber Attacks and Intelligence Losses

Iran reported massive cyber attacks from Israel. It also confirmed the loss of senior military advisors, marking one of the gravest security breaches since 1979. Iranian agencies have arrested suspected Mossad agents and downed an Israeli drone.

Nuclear Sites Targeted

Israel intensified its assault after the IAEA accused Iran of breaching non-proliferation rules. An Israeli strike reportedly hit enrichment halls at Natanz. Still, deep sites like Fordow remain beyond reach without full US participation.

Rising Civilian Toll

The conflict has left at least 224 Iranians and 24 Israelis dead. As evacuations continue, global oil markets are rattled, particularly after hits near the South Pars gas field shared by Iran and Qatar.
