Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has once again spotlighted Pakistan counter-terrorism efforts, calling for international recognition and a renewed India-Pakistan dialogue. Speaking at a seminar titled “Pakistan: A Bulwark Against Terrorism” in Islamabad on July 2, he highlighted the country’s frontline role in fighting terrorism and urged regional cooperation to confront shared threats.

Pakistan’s Sacrifices in the War on Terror

Bilawal emphasized that Pakistan has borne immense human and economic losses in its war against terrorism. From dismantling Al-Qaeda’s network to battling homegrown threats, he credited the armed forces and law enforcement agencies for their resilience. He noted that Pakistan’s sacrifices have made the world safer and deserve global acknowledgment.

Call for International Support

He urged the global community to extend more than just praise. “It’s time for the world to move beyond words and provide concrete cooperation,” Bilawal said. He called for increased diplomatic, financial, and strategic support to strengthen Pakistan’s ongoing anti-terrorism efforts.

Appeal for Dialogue with India

In a significant move, Bilawal invited India to engage in open dialogue with Pakistan. He argued that only meaningful communication between the two nuclear powers can reduce tension and tackle terrorism effectively. “Silence and distance only fuel mistrust and empower extremists,” he warned.

Regional Stability at Risk

Bilawal warned that a lack of dialogue increases the risk of instability in South Asia. He stressed that collaboration, not confrontation, is the key to peace in the region. “Peace cannot be achieved in isolation. We must talk, listen, and work together,” he added.

A Strategic Call for Peace

Bilawal’s message was clear: Pakistan has done its part and will continue its fight, but the burden must be shared. Dialogue, especially with India, is no longer optional—it is a strategic necessity for lasting peace and regional stability.
